Aliya was featured on the cover of GO Magazine a national publication in November 2009 as one of the many amazing women guiding America’s non-profit organizations. A resident of New York City, her growing desire to personally contribute her time and effort towards non profit work began in 1997 as a volunteer at the Women’s Federation for World Peace. As a single mother working on Wall Street, Aliya became more involved with the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce where she sat on the Board of Directors there as well as charing New York City based organization better know as OP.LYNX

“I know my long history with non-profit organizations both as a recipient of their services as a domestic violence survivor and as a dedicated volunteer and leader has fueled my greater desire and vision to contribute at a higher level through the creation of Wonder Women.” Aliya’s professional background began at age 19 in her family’s insurance business, followed by tenures at Mass Mutual Financial Group, HSBC Bank (as their first NYC Insurance Officer), and the French custom publishing company Maya Press, where she served as Director of Development. With more than 15 years of financial services, communications and marketing experience, Aliya is also a business, as well as, relationship/match-making consultant to private clients. In 2009 she co-produced a high-end customized book on the Top 40 Chefs in New York City, and her current writing project is a work in progress is titled Glass Ceilings, Doors and Other Obstructions.
